Accommodation
We strongly urge you to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. Other events may cause these hotels to fill up well before Sept 16-18. We have not obtained special rates for the OSA Vision Meeting because you may be able to do better by booking rooms in these hotels through Priceline, hotels.com, or similar booking sites. If necessary, try calling the hotels directly and ask for a “staying on UW business” rate. Hotels are listed in order to increasing distance to the meeting venue, Kane Hall on the UW campus.

If you don’t mind having a bathroom down the hall, the very small College Inn is located just across the street from campus and the meeting venue. It offers the lowest cost rooms, which include breakfast, but books up long in advance because of its small size.

The two closest mid-size hotels are the University Inn and the Watertown: about 4 blocks, a 5-7 min walk to talks/posters in Kane Hall. They are jointly owned but differ in style and price. The University Inn has a swimming pool and is more geared toward families. The Watertown is more stylish and costs a bit more. Both provide complementary breakfast.

The Deca is only slightly farther: an 8-10 min walk to the talks/posters in Kane Hall. This is a stylish, larger hotel with an Art Deco theme. It offers a variety of special suites and has a restaurant/lounge which serves breakfast, which is NOT complimentary.

Located away from the other hotels, the Silver Cloud’s University location and the Travelodge University are a 15-20 min walk northeast of UW campus. The Silver Cloud offers a complimentary shuttle service, free parking, an indoor pool, and complimentary breakfast. The Travelodge offers complimentary breakfast and an outdoor pool

Straight north of campus about 5 blocks, the University Motel Suites offers various sizes of rooms and suites but does not offer complementary breakfast.

A note on Aurora Ave. motels: You may find inexpensive online prices for motels along Aurora Ave N, which is about 2 miles west of campus. We do not recommend these locations because some have been associated with illegal activities, and we are not in a position to vouch for specific motels.
